Palm Sunday: The Beginning of Holy Week

On Palm Sunday, we commemorate Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where crowds welcomed him with palm branches, shouting, “Hosanna!” This marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most sacred time in our liturgical year.

At Mass, we begin with the blessing of palms, recalling the joy of Christ’s arrival. Yet, the tone shifts as we hear the Passion narrative, reflecting on his suffering and sacrifice. This contrast reminds us of the depth of God’s love and prepares our hearts for the journey ahead—through the Last Supper, the cross, and ultimately, the joy of Easter.

Everyone is invited as we enter into this sacred mystery, walking with Jesus from his triumphant welcome to his saving Passion, deepening our faith in his ultimate victory over sin and death.

Holy Thursday: The Mass of the Lord’s Supper

On Holy Thursday, we enter into the sacred Triduum with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, commemorating the night Jesus gathered with his disciples for the Last Supper. It was on this night that he instituted the Eucharist, giving us the gift of his Body and Blood, and commanded us to love and serve one another.

One of the most moving moments of the liturgy is the washing of feet, a powerful sign of Christ’s humility and call to self-giving love. The Mass concludes in silence as the Eucharist is transferred to the altar of repose, inviting us to keep watch with Jesus in prayer, just as he prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Together, we remember Christ’s ultimate act of love and prepare our hearts for the journey through his Passion, death, and resurrection.

Good Friday: The Passion of the Lord

On Good Friday, we solemnly remember the suffering and death of Jesus on the cross. It is a day of deep reflection, prayer, and fasting as we contemplate his sacrifice for the salvation of the world.

The liturgy begins in silence, setting the tone for this solemn day. We listen to the Passion according to John, venerate the cross as a sign of our redemption, and receive the Eucharist consecrated on Holy Thursday. Without a final blessing, the service ends in silence, reminding us that the story is not yet complete—we wait in hope for the joy of the resurrection.

Join us as we stand at the foot of the cross, uniting our hearts with Christ’s sacrifice and love, and preparing to celebrate the victory of Easter.

Holy Saturday: The Easter Vigil

Holy Saturday is a day of quiet anticipation as we wait in hope for the resurrection of Jesus. The Church remains in solemn reflection, recalling the time Jesus lay in the tomb, but as night falls, we gather for the Easter Vigil—the most beautiful and sacred liturgy of the year.

The Vigil begins in darkness, symbolizing the world before Christ’s victory over sin and death. A new fire is blessed, and the Paschal Candle is lit, spreading light throughout the church. Through Scripture, we journey through salvation history, leading to the joyful proclamation of the resurrection. Catechumens receive the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, and we renew our own baptismal promises, rejoicing in the new life Christ offers us.

We hope you will join us as we move from darkness to light, from death to resurrection, and celebrate the hope and joy of Easter.

Easter Sunday: The Joy of the Resurrection

On Easter Sunday, we rejoice in the victory of Jesus over sin and death. The empty tomb proclaims the heart of our faith: Christ is risen!

In the Gospels, it is the women who first discover the empty tomb and are entrusted with the good news of the resurrection. Like Mary Magdalene and the other women, we are called to encounter the risen Christ and share his life-giving message with the world.

Our Easter liturgy is filled with joy—triumphant music, the renewal of baptismal promises, and the celebration of the Eucharist, where we experience the presence of the risen Lord.

Let us proclaim the good news that Christ is alive, and through him, we, too, are given new life.

All are welcome in this family of faith!

Come and celebrate the joy of Easter with us! Whether you have journeyed through the entire Triduum or are joining us for Easter Sunday, all are welcome to encounter the risen Christ. Together, let us rejoice in the promise of new life and share the hope of the resurrection with the world. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
