Marriage Milestones
Celebrate your milestone marriage!
February 15 following 4:00 PM Mass
If you are celebrating a “Milestone Marriages” in 2025, please consider coming to a social after 4:00 Mass on Saturday, February 15th. There will be simple appetizers, beverages, music, and the opportunity to celebrate with one another. Are you wondering if your marriage is considered a “Milestone Anniversary”? Even though every year of marriage lived out faithfully is a milestone to be celebrated, we are thinking YEAR 1 (often the most difficult) and then the “5’s” 5, 10, 15, 20… and any marriage that’s still going strong over 50 years. We want to be sure to have enough of EVERYTHING, so please register before February 10th by contacting Christy or registering on the parish website. Part of our celebration could include a slide show during the event showcasing each couple. Please send photos as an email attachment to Christy or you can drop off a photo to the office during regular office hours so we can make a copy.
Celebrating milestone marriages is important for several reasons, as these anniversaries mark significant achievements in relationships and highlight the importance of love, commitment, and growth. Here’s why celebrating milestone marriages is meaningful:
Acknowledging Commitment
Celebrates dedication: Reaching a milestone anniversary—such as a 25th (silver), 50th (gold), or even longer—shows a deep commitment to one another. It’s a testament to a couple’s dedication to navigating life together, through both joyful and challenging times.
Reflecting on the Journey
Celebrating growth: Over the years, couples change, grow, and evolve together. Milestone anniversaries provide a chance to reflect on the journey: how the relationship has grown, how individual lives have intertwined, and how both partners have adapted and supported each other.
Reaffirming Love and Appreciation
Reminds couples of their connection: In the routine of daily life, couples might forget to prioritize each other or show appreciation. A milestone celebration provides a dedicated time to remember and cherish each other, reinforcing emotional closeness.
Celebrating milestone marriages is more than just a party or an event; it’s an opportunity to honor the enduring commitment, love, and growth that comes with years of partnership. It strengthens relationships, creates lasting memories, and inspires others, while also offering a moment of reflection and appreciation for both the couple and those around them.
