High School Outreach Team

“Each of us has a fire in our hearts for something. It’s our goal in life to find it and keep it lit.”
Mary Lou Retton

To align with student interests, manage resources, and support faith development, the Outreach Mission Trip for June 2025 has been postponed. Instead, high school students (grades 9-12) at Blessed Sacrament Parish can participate in the Notre Dame Vision Conference—a five-day, immersive experience at the University of Notre Dame. This program offers workshops, prayer sessions, and small groups, guiding students to recognize God’s grace. Students will stay in dorms, dine on campus, and access sacred spaces, deepening their faith through inspiring speakers and activities. More information for this program will be released in January.

The parish remains committed to future Outreach Mission Trips and invites students to share their interests with the Faith Formation Office for future planning. This shift underscores the parish’s commitment to nurturing students’ faith and service values through meaningful experiences. Thank you for your understanding and support as we explore new ways to foster spiritual growth.

The Youth Outreach Team is an opportunity for those in high school to put their faith in action by reaching out to others in service. This group meets about twice a month beginning in September through the beginning of June in preparation for the summer mission trip. The meetings include Catholic Social Teaching, prayer, and team-building activities as well as opportunities to serve within our parish and in our community.

In order to participate in the mission trip, each member is required to have a minimum of 25 service hours with the team each year. Hours are earned through team service projects, fundraisers, and outside service opportunities.

The team also has adult volunteers who help teens prepare for service and attend the week-long mission trip. Space is limited.
