Pet Blessing Recap: All Creatures of Our God & King, Lift Up Your Voices and Sing!
On Wednesday, October 2, we joyfully held our annual Pet Blessing, inspired by the love of St. Francis of Assisi for all creatures great and small. This year, we were thrilled to welcome a record number of pets (and their humans) to receive blessings from our Creator.
The turnout was amazing, with a variety of animals, including numerous dogs, a brave cat, a fluffy rabbit, and even a turtle! It was a beautiful celebration of God’s creation, as we gathered to give thanks for the animals who enrich our lives with their companionship and unconditional love.
This tradition of blessing animals is rooted in the legacy of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and ecology, who had a profound love and respect for all living things. His example reminds us of the sacred connection we share with every creature and our responsibility to care for God’s creation.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, and we look forward to seeing even more people and pets at next year’s blessing. May God continue to bless you and your furry, feathered, or scaly companions!
