Grave Blanket Making Event

Join Us for a Special Grave Blanket-Making Event
Date: November 6th | Time: 5:00 PM | Location: Gym (Before All Souls Mass)

This November 6th, we invite you to join us for a meaningful and hands-on event in preparation for the All Souls Evening Prayer. Together, we will create a cross-shaped grave blanket with fresh greens, honoring the memory of your loved one.

Grave blankets are a beautiful tradition, brought to the United States by Scandinavian immigrants, symbolizing warmth, remembrance, and the enduring love we hold for those who have passed away. Originating as a way to decorate graves during the barren winter months, grave blankets have become a cherished way to honor the departed, especially during the holiday season.

During the event, you will receive:

  • Fresh pine branches in varying lengths
  • A cross-shaped wire frame
  • A choice of bows and small decorations
  • Simple instructions and hands-on support to help you get started

Feel free to bring personal mementos or decorations to make your grave blanket truly unique and meaningful. We recommend bringing pruning shears as well.

This is a special opportunity to connect with others and create something beautiful and heartfelt for your loved ones. Whether it’s your first time or a cherished tradition, we welcome you to join us in this comforting and reflective act of love.
